About Moira - Your Personalised VA

Virtual Assistant | 4.5 Years in a Psychology Practice
Bachelor of Psychology | Post Graduate Higher Diploma Education

Hello, I'm Moira, the founder of The Personalised VA. I created this business to give solo and small practices admin support that feels personal.

My Focus

For the past 4.5 years, I've been the VA for a psychology practice, working in Halaxy every day. I manage bookings and the waitlist, enter referrals and mental health care plans, track session numbers, process Medicare, DVA and health fund claims, and speak with clients when they call. That experience is the foundation of The Personalised VA. I have now opened up my support to psychologists, counsellors, social workers and other health practitioners in major cities and regional towns across Australia.

How I Support Practices

If you asked what it's like to work with me, I'd say I aim to be warm, patient and easy to deal with. I take the time to learn your fees, your booking rules and how you like your clients spoken to, as well as your boundaries so your admin is done your way. I also know where my role stops: I don't provide psychological services or assess risk, and anything clinical goes straight to you.

Experience

Before becoming a VA, I spent over 20 years in business, administration, IT support and bookkeeping. I ran two franchise businesses, writing their admin manuals and training their staff, provided IT support for a national company, and did bookkeeping for several businesses. Those years taught me to build clear systems and procedures, how to break things down into easy to understand steps, and work with people from all different walks of life, which is what I now bring to each practice I support.

Keeping Up to Date

Psychology is a complex and highly regulated profession. I consult regularly with a registered psychologist with over 11 years of experience, who keeps me up to date with changes such as updates to the Code of Conduct or new requirements, so that isn't your job.

About Me Personally

When I'm not working, you'll often find me with my family, out with friends, or in my garden.
